How to Help With Algebra Problems Step by Step

How to Help With Algebra Problems Step by StepFinding a method to help with algebra problems can be a very important aspect of your high school education. As an educator, you must always think of ways to motivate your students to work at a higher level, and this can be very difficult when they don't know how to approach the problem. It is essential that you teach algebra concepts in an organized way so that students can follow the steps easily. The first thing you need to do is look into online websites for step by step solutions to algebra problems. There are many excellent websites on the internet that have very good step by step algebra problems that you can take from. The most important part of these websites is that they are step by step, meaning you will be able to follow along very easily. You should always make sure that you are not left confused because you don't know what is going on in each step. Also, when you find the steps too difficult, it may not be helpful to your stud ents.Another great feature of these online websites is that there are videos on them that allow you to see exactly what is going on. This means that you don't have to worry about any of the math that is being presented as being too difficult or confusing, as it is clearly explained. It is very important that you keep track of the students' progress and even track their successes or failures in their algebra problems. This allows you to keep track of the information that you want to emphasize, as well as give you an idea of how the students are progressing in their algebra lessons. The best part about using an online website to help with algebra problems is that you will be able to evaluate the information that you are going to be providing in a fairly short period of time. Because it will be very quick, you can assess the effectiveness of your methods on your students without having to go back and check up on them all the time. There are many ways to keep your students motivated when y ou are working with algebra problems, and one of the most popular ones involves getting them involved in some sort of project. Helping your students to see that they are working at a high level, is one of the best ways to motivate them, and also provides them with the opportunity to learn something.

Critical Reasoning Question Types-Assumption questions - Private Tutoring

Critical Reasoning Question Types-Assumption questions BobbiM Feb 4, 2014 An assumption bridges the gap between an arguments evidence and conclusion.  Its a piece of support that isnt explicitly stated, but that is required for the conclusion to remain valid.  When a question asks you to find an authors assumption, its asking you to find the statement without which the argument falls apart Denial Test To test whether a statement is necessarily assumed by an author, we can employ the Denial Test.  Heres how it works:  Simply deny or negate the statement and see if the argument falls apart.  If it does, that choice is a necessary assumption.  If, on the other hand, the argument is unaffected, the choice is wrong.  Consider this simple stimulus: Allyson plays volleyball for Central High School. Therefore, Allyson must be over 6 feet tall. You should recognize the second sentence as the conclusion and the first sentence as the evidence for it.  But is the argument complete?  Obviously not.  The piece thats missing-the unstated link between the evidence and conclusion-is the assumption, and you could probably prephrase this one pretty easily: All volleyball players for Central High School are over 6 feet tall. Is this an assumption really necessary to the argument?  Lets negate it using the Denial Test.  What if its not true that all volleyball players for Central High are taller than 6 feet?  Can we still logically conclude that Allyson must be taller than 6 feet?  No, we cant.  Sure, she might be, but she also might not be.  By denying the statement, then, the argument falls to pieces; it is no longer valid.  And thats our conclusive proof that the statement above is a necessary assumption of this argument. So, we can use the Denial Test to chick whether a statement is an assumption, but what if we havent a clue about what the assumption is?  Is there a way to track it down?  Sure enough, there is? Compare the ideas in the evidence with those in the conclusion.  If the conclusion has an idea (an important word) but the evidence does not, then youve found an assumption.  A new idea cannot occur in the conclusion, so there must be an assumption about this idea.  Every idea in the conclusion need support-that is, evidence.  While it may not be quite clear what the assumption is, knowing something about it allows us to prephrase and eliminate choices. As weve just seen, you can often prephrase the answer to an Assumption question.  By previewing the question stem, youll know what to look for.  And stimuli for Assumption questions just feel as if theyre missing something.  Often, the answer will jump out at you, as it did here.  But in more difficult Assumption questions, it might not be so obvious.  Either way, use the Denial Test to quickly check whichever choice seems correct. Sample Question Stems Assumption questions are worded in some of the following ways: Which one of the following is assumed by the author? Upon which one of the following assumptions does the author rely? The argument depends on the assumption that? Which of the following, if added to the passage, will make the conclusion logical? The validity of the argument depends on which one of the following? The argument presupposes which one of the following?

Shanghai Expo and May Holidays

Shanghai Expo and May Holidays The World Expo is about to start in Shanghai, and we are excited to be here. Shanghai has been under construction for years in preparation for this event, and now the world will be able to see the results of that work. This years Expo theme is Urban Development, and there will be numerous pavilions dedicated to how we can improve the way we live. We think this theme is very timely, given the level of urbanization in China, and the problems it faces in terms of sustainable economic growth. Events like the Expo present a great opportunity for people to exchange ideas about these increasingly universal issues. italki is also trying to facilitate the exchange of ideas, virtually through the internet. Even though technology has driven the costs of communications to almost zero, language still represents a significant barrier in communication. Its hard to imagine how people can work well together to tackle global issues if they cannot communicate well with each other. If you are coming to the Expo (or are just curious), try posting it on your blackboard or in your notebook. Many italki users are interested in meeting in person, and there are lots of members in Shanghai (where we are based)! If you also happen to be in town (for the Expo or otherwise), please come and stop by we like using Skype, but wed love to meet you in person! 4 Ways to Come up With a Great Thesis Statement -TutorNerds

4 Ways to Come up With a Great Thesis Statement -TutorNerds Fullerton Private Tutor Tips: 4 ways to Come Up With a Great Thesis Statement Whether a student is writing a paper for a science course or literature class, they will be faced with writing several thesis statements throughout their high school career. It can be a real challenge to stare at a blank piece of paper and formulate a thesis that will earn a student an A paper from the teacher. However, there are some great tips and tricks that will help students in any course come up with a great thesis statement and learn how to refine it so their paper will be clear, concise, and interesting to read our private Fullerton tutoring will help you improve your writing. 1. Start asking questions One of the first things student writers should do is start asking themselves the questions they will need to answer throughout their paper. Why did a particular character in a novel react a certain way? Why did the plot take a sudden twist? There are lots of different ways students can start analyzing a piece of literature, and they can start by asking themselves questions about things they dont quite understand. If students are in a science or history course, they can look into cause and effect or the scientific method. Is students are stuck they can ask themselves who, what, when, where, and why. This can help them get their thoughts organized and get the creative juices flowing. 2. Dont worry too much Many students worry that their initial thesis statement wont be perfect, and this will most certainly be true. Nearly every writer will need to refine their statement into a second or third draft. Students should not be so focused on whether or not their first statement is amazing; rather they should just get something written down on paper to start refining it and move on to the next step. Worrying about being perfect is one of the leading causes of writers block for any writing, but especially academic writing that needs to be well organized and concise. 3. Write an outline Students often skip writing an outline because they feel it is a waste of time. In fact, writing an outline is an incredibly helpful way to start formulating a thesis statement as well as a well-written paper on the whole. Its important that each paragraph goes back to the thesis statement and stays within the confines of the main idea. When students are writing an outline they will be able to go through a checklist to see if their paper meets all of the requirements before they put in hours of writing and editing. Many students can write their thesis paragraph, as well as their entire paper, by expanding their detailed outline. As a result they’ll have a rough draft in no time (READ: Irvine AP Tutor Tips: 4 Ways to Prep for AP Exams). 4. Focus on originality Students are encouraged to think about whether or not a potential thesis has an original spin. If theyre writing something that the teacher has read about over and over again, its hard to make the paper interesting and stick out among the crowd. If a student writer can come up with an original spin, something that has to do with their interpretation of the learning material, they will come up with a much more interesting thesis that will lead to an overall better paper and possibly a better grade. What Tutors For Children At Home Can Do For The Whole Family

What Tutors For Children At Home Can Do For The Whole FamilyThere are many benefits that a person can get from hiring a tutor for their children to learn at home. Tutors help children with learning as well as children with some of the main hurdles of learning.Tutoring also helps children overcome some of the problems that they face with communication and social skills. One advantage of having tutoring is that the tutor will be able to help with everything that needs to be taught, such as words, grammar, writing and speaking. All of these are important for a child to succeed in school.Teachers should be able to learn how to teach in a very different level of children. However, it is sometimes hard to have a teacher that is well versed in all the areas of teaching that are required for a certain grade level. A tutor for students at home helps them to build on the lessons that they would otherwise have had a hard time with. This is a great way to learn and is a great way to help out in a teacher's job.It is also more fun for the child when the tutor is their friend. This way, both the child and the tutor get to develop a friendship as well as learn how to communicate with each other. It also increases the child's confidence and self-esteem and boosts their self-confidence as well.Online schools provide tutors for children at home. While there are other tutoring services in the local area, it is cheaper and better to pay for tutoring at home as it is more convenient. Online schools also offer their services free for students.Tutoring services allow parents to keep track of what their child is doing at home. This will keep parents informed about what their child is doing at home as well as any mistakes that they have made that would have been avoided. This is a very helpful tool for a parent as it allows them to keep up with what their child is doing in the house. As mentioned above, there are other services that are available but the one mentioned above is more bene ficial for the whole family. While it may cost more for the individual parent, it is often cheaper for the whole family as well. All in all, it is important to find a good tutor for children at home.
